Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse - RN

Position Summary: Assists in evaluating and monitoring clients on medications. Be the primary liaison between the patient and the primary care physician. Assist clients with use of medications, which includes answering any questions or concerns during treatment, monitoring and explaining side effects, and outcomes expected.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Evaluate medication status on clients/patients, including compliance and side effects.
  • Monitor patients during follow-up of initial medication use and discuss any concerns with physician.
  • Provide information on diagnosis to clients/patients in treatment and monitor issues/concerns that may be interfering with compliance.
  • Coordinate treatment with primary care physician as well as psychiatrist.
  • Triage client/patient phone calls, answering any questions and referring problems to the staff psychiatrist as directed.
  • Follow-up on patients/clients who miss appointments, including lab tests, and physical exams.
  • Process prescription refills, managed care referrals, other physician referrals, and paperwork which includes release of information forms, insurance /Medicaid forms, and indigent care applications, along with charting and other documentation.
  • Coordinate intensive treatment with therapists and psychiatrists for clients who need more intervention.

Essential Job Requirements:


  • BSN,  Licensed RN in New Hampshire. 


  • Three years experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably in an outpatient/office setting.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn necessary computer and technical skills essential to the position and Agency needs
  • Maintain skill competencies in customer service, quality improvement, compliance and safety.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic medical record
  • Prior experience in a community mental health environment
